The show Thursday at the Cave was fab, with the Magic Babies providing a fantastic opening set. TSE charmed the crowd with selections from our debut CD and a couple new songs–Feet of Clay, Cinderella at Half Past–that went over really well. Looking ahead to the month of August, the band will stay busy working on more new material and possibly laying down a special cover tune for an upcoming Mott the Hoople tribute CD. The track we were lucky enough to claim is none other than All the Young Dudes, Mott’s biggest hit, penned and produced by their benefactor, David Bowie. Should be a gas to record it, and chances are you’ll be hearing it live at some future shows.
The band has also been expanding our online presence of late, with a new Facebook fan page and Twitter account to let folks keep up with news and more as it happens. We just added a couple “teaser” cell phone videos shot at the Cave to the Facebook page, and the brand new Twitter feed now appears on the homepage here. Speaking of…this here website may also see an overhaul in the fall. What with Myspace, ReverbNation, Facebook, and Twitter, it almost seems redundant to have a separate website at this point!
Finally, we just added a show for late next month. We’ll be back at Tir Na Nog in Raleigh, playing our 2nd Local Band Local Beer night on Thursday, August 27th. This time we’re pleased to be sharing the stage with our pals, The Huguenots. Mark it on your calendars!
