We’re gearing up for this Saturday’s performance at IPO, David Bash’s long-running, traveling pop rock road show. The live band is in transition, but only as far as drummers are concerned. Zsolt David, who replaced yours truly in Chapel Hill’s own Velvet back in 2003, is helping me out by playing this one show. Cheers to ya, Zsolt! Starting next month, the band will begin regular rehearsals and commence gigging later in spring and into summer with Mark Weaver on the kit. Mark used to play with the fine roots rock stalwarts, Two Dollar Pistols (coincidentally another local group led by a drummer-turned-guitarist/frontman, the inestimable John Howie, Jr.). And cheers to you, Mark! Looking forward to playing more this year.

To coincide with this weekend’s show, I plan to make available the entire album via download on lulu.com and possibly through a link right here on this website. It’ll likely be album-only download on lulu.com but maybe track by track. We shall see. And yeah, better late than never, right?! The album’s only been finished for what, like 3 months now. Hell, I could’ve gotten it released quicker on a major label timetable!

Just got word that the Independent Weekly will feature one of my songs on its website this week in the lead up to IPO. Cool! Proper link to follow. Meanwhile, check out the “single” from the album below. It’s called Borderline, and it goes like this…
